Japanese Govt Offers Scholarship For Masters Level Courses
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (Bernama) — The Japanese Government is offering scholarships (Monbukagakusho:MEXT) to qualified Malaysians to pursue masters-level studies under its Young Leaders Programme (YLP) 2016.
In a statement here Tuesday , the Japanese Embassy said the scholarships are for five courses lasting a year from October 2016 until September 2017.
The five courses are Masters in Business Management (until August 2017), Law, Management/Public Law (Government Schools Curriculum), Management/Public Law (Local Government) and Health Management.
Applications for the scholarships can be made until Sept 18 and is open to all Malaysians holding honours degrees.
According to the statement, applicants for the Business Management course must be below 35 years of age on Sept 1, 2016, fluent in English (minimum marks for TOEFL 600/ TOEFL-CBT 250 or equivalent), have GMAT results, and work experience of at least three years.
For the other four courses, applicants must be below 40 years of age on Oct 1, 2016, fluent in English (minimum marks for TOEFL 550/ TOEFL-CBT 213/ TOEFL-iBT 79-80 or equivalent), have work experience of at least three years in the government sector for the course in law, and at least four years experience in private or government legal office in Malaysia.
The statement also said individuals interested in pursuing the course in Business Management can contact the Malaysian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry at telephone number 03-62049811 (Ms. Annie William); and for the course in Health Management, contact the Malaysian Health Ministry at telephone number 03-88831122 (Dr. Fairoz) or 03-88831113 (Dr. Ilya Hani).
Meanwhile, applications for the other three courses can contact the Public Service Department at 03-88853468 (Nor Rafaina).
For the course in law, applications from non-government officials can be made through the Law Faculty at International Islamic University at 03- 61694226 or e-mail ramizah@iium.edu.my (associate professor Dr. Ramizah Wan Muhammad).
Successful applicants will be exempted from paying examination, matriculation and monthly fees, while return flights will also be provided.
