Raja Zarith Sofiah Foundation Launches Three Alternative Education Financing Schemes
The Zarith Sofiah Foundation three alternative education financing schemes plans are the B-40 Initiative Scheme, Student Study Grant and Diversity in Studies Programme Fund which came under the Zarith Sofiah Initiative for Educational Financial Assistance (ZSIEFA).

The foundation’s chief executive officer Datuk Ghazali Mohd Yusoff said in order to implement the plans, almost RM25 million was required annually and the foundation hoped to raise the funds through contributions from various parties, including the corporate sector.
“The implementation of this three plans will give the government and private sectors the opportunity to work together in providing alternative financing schemes for Malaysian students.
“As such, foundation calls on all sectors, including individuals to contribute to this fund and help empower the future generations,” said Ghazali at the launch of the plans graced by the Permaisuri of Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah here, Monday.
According to Ghazali, under the B-40 Initiative Scheme, the foundation aimed to provide an assistance of RM1,500 to each student to help cover their daily expenses including transportation cost.
Under the Student Study Grant, the Zarith Sofiah Foundation hoped to provide RM2,000 as a one-off payment for the purpose of research or thesis preparation while the Diversity in Studies Programme Fund was aimed to assist institutions and individuals in promoting diversity in their studies and education.
